Carol Huntley Little
Carol has been a long time supported of women, especially women in need. While working as a Senior System Engineer, and later as Manager of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Carol found time to dramatically improve the lives of many women who were in desperate need by founding New Tomorrows, a shelter for battered women and children serving as its part-time volunteer director. After the closing of ARCO she became the fulltime volunteer executive director of the shelter.
Before working at ARCO, Carol began her career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a system engineer developer and advanced to senior systems engineer and manager of operations. Carol is currently a partner in Silver Linings Events, LLC which specializes in event planning. “I love people and I love helping people. My community work and my job both let me help people, and it makes it a joy to start the day each morning, knowing that I am going to do something that day to help someone!”
Carol holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Baruch College in New York City, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering and Information Technology from Southern Methodist University and a Masters Degree from the University of Dallas.
Carol has shown her love of helping people through her service on many corporate and non-profit boards, such as Las Colinas Medical Center, Irving League of Women Voters, Irving International Women’s Consortium, Irving Symphony League and Irving Symphony Orchestra to name a few.
Honors and awards include; ARCO Oil & Gas, Volunteer of the Year; ARCO Information & Technology, President’s Award; Soroptimist International Woman of the Year; JC Penney Company, Golden Rule Award; Irving Academy of Community Service, Best Director Oscar; Irving Academy of Community Service, Best Performance Oscar, Irving High Spirited Award to just name a few.
